Archbishop Michael Jackels


Archbishop Michael Jackels was appointed to the Archdiocese of Dubuque on April 8, 2013 by Pope Francis and installed on May 30, 2013 at the Church of the Nativity in Dubuque. Prior to becoming Archbishop, he was appointed the 10th Bishop of the Diocese of Wichita on January 28, 2005, by Pope John Paul II and installed at the Church of the Magdalen on April 4. Before becoming bishop, he worked for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome for eight years under Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
