Marcia Lane-McGee is the coauthor of “Fat Luther, Slim Pickin’s,” speaker, and the cohost of the Plaid Skirts and Basic Black podcast.
A Chicago native and eldest sibling, Marcia refuses to pull any punches, doesn’t easily give into “can’t,” and has a close (and complicated) relationship with feedback. Being an (aspiring) joy guru, she wants her sisters in Christ to feel empowered to say “yes!” to the Lord with their whole heart and “no” to the things they must in that same spirit. She wants all women of God to embrace the discomfort that comes with engaging in their purpose and the growth to come.
In addition to being a founding member, executive board member, and secretary of Catholics United for Black Lives and an executive board member and vice president of New Wave Feminists, Marcia is currently working toward her Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL.
